“Set You Free “
Creativity: Rob needs to reach a little deeper to make something that doesn't sound that run of the mill.
Hook: Pretty Catchy, I can recite it after only listening to it 3 times.
Beat: The beat is on point, Rob keeps the energy alive and matches the mid tempo track filled with chants and a sick electric guitar accompaniment.
Originality: This could have been a little more imaginative.
Lyrics: Nothing thought provoking or different than what I've heard from other R&B Artists.
Flow: The flow of the song overall was smooth, then there was a rap break, that threw off the momentum.
Recording Quality: The quality and arrangement could have been a lot better, there were very few harmonies in this particular song. The harmonies could have made this song a little less bare.
Does the song engage the listener and/or have emotional impact? Personally no.
Is the song memorable? The melody definitely is, it stays stuck in your head.
Song is decent, the artist needs a little more vocal control here, overall I would say there is extreme potential here.
"Let the Night Take Ova You"
Creativity: This track centered on the elements of night time, this was a nice theme, pretty creative here.
Hook: The hook is simple, simple is good. Simple and Catchy also very memorable.
Beat: The beat is hypnotic, and sexy, sets the stage for Rob's vocals.
Originality: Extremely he managed to put together what could be considered a foreplay track, he gets his point across without being vulgar or lewd. That is KEY in creating RnB music these days.
Lyrics: Love the style that it is written in, he got creative here and was able to play around with metaphors in relation to night time.
Flow: The flow of the song is pretty sexy, love the slow pace.
Recording Quality: I would rate the recording as 7/10 as the vocals could be a little clearer.
Does the song engage the listener and/or have emotional impact? The hook engages me more than anything, emotionally? Not so much.
Is the song memorable? : Not as a whole, the hook sticks.
“Set The Mood Right”
Creativity: Average
Hook – Not a fan of how it's being sung. Misses the mark for me.
Beat- Slow Jam material
Originality: It's original in the sense that it doesn't get to the rated R, type material, and these days artists are trying to push the envelope in that direction, but Rob approaches it from a gentleman's role.
Lyrics: The lyrics are a little corny nothing that really stands out.
Flow – The flow seems to be a signature of the singer, stays in sexy form.
Recording Quality: 7/10
Does the song engage the listener and/or have emotional impact? It's a bedroom track so in the
Is the song memorable? No
Overall my review of the artist is that I hear potential. He has an ear for melodies, and that is crucial in R&B. The energy is there, with some basic vocal training to help this artist control his voice, ad libs, and range, he can excel. The vocals sound a little bare not many harmonies are heard throughout the music.
