Mixtape Review: "The Murder House" from artist Sir Nasty @SIR7NASTY4 by @phoenixstar9

"The Murder House" from artist Sir Nasty

I got my hands on the newest mixtape “Murder House” from, The Mixtape Killer, Sir Nasty out of Macon, Ga. Sir Nasty and the whole Graveyard Entertainment camp have been making a lot of noise and this mixtape was like an explosion.
The intro sets the tone for the project, you get to hear how Nasty really feels about hip hop, and he stays true to his dark and raw style. On the track “Drugs” it didn’t really catch my attention too much, however, I thought it was dope how they broke down what each drug was made of, didn’t really have too much  here to pull me in. “Me vs The World” was a personal favorite, over a high energy instrumental, with several references to the WWE,WWF, etc world, which I thought was pretty creative in relation to the song. Nasty matches the beat and doesn’t let it run over him.

Nasty drops “Save My Queen” over the Kanye West “Power” instrumental, he’s created his own lane, for illustration purposes, I will call it the “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK LANE” this is a track for those that stand their ground no matter what, Public Enemy type feel.
“American Gangster” was laid back, and gives you more Sir Nasty, in terms of who he is and who he finds influential, “You want to talk logic, what do you call a black boy in the hood when he gothic, black bandanna, loud music, bumping rock shit, I know I look familiar, Tupac Bitch!” It was one of the many tracks I really enjoyed listening to. Nasty has a great flow, I have heard a lot of artists out here sounding off and their delivery being awkward but Nasty is on point.  Sir Nasty drops “I Think I Can Rap” over the Beverly Hill’s Cop themed instrumental. It wasn’t one of my favorites here, not because of Nasty, but because of the beat and what I’m used to hearing from him. Didn’t fit him to me, just sounded out of place.  “Nobody” is another track that gives you a look into what you can come to expect from Sir Nasty. The hook is easy to remember and easy to rhyme along to ” That’s that shit, and bitches love it when they hear it cause they feel it, they know, ain’t nobody else making mothaf*ckin shit like this” This one is a little mid tempo but doesn’t take away from the momentum of the mixtape It does what it set out to do make you slow down and listen.

“Words Ain’t Enough” was another stand out track, mainly because of the metaphors, for example “But they settle for Rappers with they Metaphors, playing “He Man” but they don’t wanna see the “Skeletor” , this actually showed Nasty’s versatility over this more or less east coast, NY, style instrumental. I really liked this, staying on repeat.“A Song About Weed” had me dying… he tells a tale over the Missy Elliot’s “Gossip Folks” this is a must listen.. Nasty had me replaying this one over and over. One of my favorites, you get to hear him use his storytelling skills while creatively using the gibberish portion of the hook to his advantage. A fun Friday and Saturday night track that you bump on your way out.

“Mo Murder 4 Mo Money” caught my attention because of the instrumental and I really wanted to hear what he was going to do over this one, “Pimps don’t cry, and gangsters don’t talk, bullshit fly, and money sho walk,” I think this is a nice track and true to people that have hustled, and done a few things they weren’t so proud of, “I was riding dirty, my girl got tired of it, I said I fuckin did it, never said I was proud of it.” The line that touched me the most was “Somebody gon feel me, it’s karma if a mothafucka kill me.”  No holds barred here, one of the tracks that I know 3 out of 4 Of you reading this will relate to. “Loko Colors” was what I was waiting on, this is for the folks that love Four Loko’s I was happy to hear this track, this is one of his signature songs to me. Four Loko should be paying him or handing over a lifetime supply.
“The Other Guys” was funny as hell, using the famous “Gator don’t Play No Shit” line in the hook, but it didn’t really hold my attention too much. Just a little flat didn’t match up to the rest of the mixtape. “Planet Goth” was one track that true hip hop heads like myself will enjoy, this had a lot of dope lines, “Only one real nigga wear that mask, rack em up, I’m the ball breaker, Wayne gay see, I use your body for wall paper.” “I was doing me, spiked up and skulled out, I flipped out and got it draped up and dripped out. The way these niggas dress I’m tripped out, you still look like a pussy nigga, quit poking your lips out.” This hit the nail on the head and it knocks! I had to add this one to my favorites.

This mixtape truly has something for everybody, overall it produced a lot of my new favorite songs.Sir Nasty’s delivery, flow, and lyrical content, blended with his “Horror” style made this mixtape truly what it was. It was dark in some spots but that’s what made it great. It got an A from me. I recommend this mixtape take a listen for yourself and thank me later! --- Phoenixstar9 @phoenixstar9
