To Turn Pop or Not?
A big debate these days on should you change to fit in with "todays style" or stick with your own signature style? To some people its about money, to some its about the art. For me its about the art, after a debate with someone then the interview on Wednesday night on the radio show, I've came up with this conclusion. I am taking ANY deal from ANY buyer, but I am not focusing my energy on going pop, to me I do this production and this rap for the love of music. Music is supposed to be about expression not about constant party, money, cars and women. I do think a lot of artists sell out to get ahead and I think the radio, tv and bet all played a part of killing hip hop. On the other hand hip hop isn't dead it just moved to the internet. We live in a day in age where everyone is trying to do the same type of music and no one seems to have signature sounds. That isn't just in production but also music in general. I personally couldn't ever see myself selling out just to get a record deal or production deal. I think creativity needs to make a comeback and fast!
