2 Weeks till selection Sunday!

Lots of upsets over the past week including Duke, Ohio State and San Diego State all losing. The # 1 seeds are sure shuffling daily. Could this be a year where no #1's make it to the final 4? We'll see. I ride with my Kentucky Wildcats every year, and my sleeper or maybe not so much a sleeper will be BYU! I'm convinced they are a real good team after seeing them play yesterday!

Miami vs New York

Was defiantly a statement game for the knicks considering about a month ago Miami went to Madison Square and beat a completely different team! The Knicks will only get better I'd like to personally see them play Los Angeles and Boston then I think we can get a good gauge on how good they are.

Next Weeks Guest On The Producers Corner Boo Boo Cousins!

Boo Boo Cousins Biography
Boo Boo Cousins is a producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist and native New Yorker. Mr. Cousins has been making waves in New York and throughout the Northeast. Layering a unique blend of live instruments and cutting edge music technology, Mr. Cousins has pioneered a sound all his own. His hip hop music production influences include a range of producers from DJ Marley Marl to OutKasts and The Dungeon Family. He doesn't believe in music being separated by regions, but understands why it is. In all he feels it's all just music, but believes one should make an effort to create good music. Mr. Cousins is looking to place his catalog of hip hop beats, soul instrumentals and music material with singers, rappers and poets and in television, films and multimedia projects.

Melo Finally To NY

Well after months of speculation the deal has finally happen basically sending Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony to New York for Wilson Chandler, Gallinari , Raymond Felton and a few other pieces. My opinion I think long term this will be a good move for the Knicks especially also getting (my favorite player in the league) Chauncey Billups to go which will provide Amare and Melo a good point guard who can not only distribute but also score if needed to. Melo is a New York guy as well as an NCAA Champion from Syracuse so he's probably dreamed of this day since he was a kid and now its finally happened. The Nuggets on the other hand, this could either be really good in the future if they keep this team together which isn't likely or will stink it up real bad with the current level of competition in the west for years to come.

Where I'm at?

When I started producing in 2007 it started as something that I dreamed of doing for a living and as years went by I went from just producing to getting my first credits on Boome's 2009 New King On The Block album, last year co producing the track with Boome featuring Lil Flip & P.O.T- Game Time to also getting on the Ice Breaker Productions Radio Show. In addition to the show I now have my own segment on the show titled "The Producers Corner". I look forward to bigger things later on this year like finally walking away from a 9:00-5:00 job I've been working since 2001. Starting to feel like I'm finally reaching a dream and you can too! Don't ever give up, even at your darkest moments, the moment you do the next man will fill that spot that you wanted. Secondly stay positive, there will be family and people who say their your friends who you feel might not support you but again you gotta keep rolling. Its almost like the person who wasn't popular in high school that no one would talk to then flash forward years later everybody wants to jump on the wagon. I think of this the same way, the people who didn't support now or who viewed this as a joke will want to ride when they see you doing big things. Not saying cut them off, but don't stop your grind for people who never supported. I thank all the people in other cities that support that I've never really met in person, my whole camp Rize Up Ent, Ice Breaker Productions as well as the group at Live Off Beats for helping me get on the right path . The Grind Don't Stop

Producers Corner with D-DOT

Next Week On The Icebreaker Radio Show

-BOOME-
Artist Boome locally out of Atlanta, Ga has made a name for his self specially in the city of Dallas. Headling multiple indepedent tours around the country & also opening for major acts on the way. He has opened shows for B.O.B., Devin da Dude, Big Tuck & many more....& also collaborated on songs with Lil Flip & Big Tuck. "New King On The Block" which was his nationwide album drop last year created some worthy buzz for him. With his new album "Citizen Kane" still in production set for release in April 2011, Boome has created some amazing singles. "Suicide Off The Moon", the first single would probably be considered a very powerful record by any critic, it has a dark but energetic feel to it. When asked about the direction of the new single & the album he quoted "I finally found my lane with this one, this single is actually positive it simply talks about reaching a snapping point but actually finding strength from it, have nothing to loose so going for everything. "Citizen Kane" to me is my masterpiece thats why I took my time on this one, this album will probably recreate a lot of people's direction on what quality music is. I put my self in a different mindset & try to find inspiration in hard places. I wanted to make the best album that i could possibly make, kind of like a track runner trying to run his best time. This album has been one hell of a journey for me & I enjoyed every bit of it...."Citizen Kane" in stores Spring 2011.

To Turn Pop or Not?

A big debate these days on should you change to fit in with "todays style" or stick with your own signature style? To some people its about money, to some its about the art. For me its about the art, after a debate with someone then the interview on Wednesday night on the radio show, I've came up with this conclusion. I am taking ANY deal from ANY buyer, but I am not focusing my energy on going pop, to me I do this production and this rap for the love of music. Music is supposed to be about expression not about constant party, money, cars and women. I do think a lot of artists sell out to get ahead and I think the radio, tv and bet all played a part of killing hip hop. On the other hand hip hop isn't dead it just moved to the internet. We live in a day in age where everyone is trying to do the same type of music and no one seems to have signature sounds. That isn't just in production but also music in general. I personally couldn't ever see myself selling out just to get a record deal or production deal. I think creativity needs to make a comeback and fast!

Super Bowl Winners!

As many of you saw the game last night Green Bay walked away the 2010 champs in a much deserved win. As much as I would have like to have seen New Orleans repeat, I am very satisfied with the outcome of this season. Green Bay overcame many injuries from 15 key guys on that team and still found ways to win. Although they lost the game against the Pats in November, it was then when I kind of got sold on them. During the pre-season a lot of people picked them and the cowboys to possibly represent the NFC in the super bowl and I wasn't buying it then and over the course of the year I became a believer in what they were doing as I saw Aaron Rodgers get better each week along with a great defense I knew this team was ready for a deep run in the playoffs. Will they repeat? Hmmmm a tough one considering in the NFC New Orleans will be healthy, I expect Dallas to be back in the playoffs possibly, Tampa will be better, San Fran may finally turn the corner, Minnesota will be better in my opinion and Chicago will probably still be around so it might be tough, but I do think they are capable of coming out of the NFC once again. Will have to also take a look at the draft as well as any free agency.

Black History Month?

Totally agreed with Morgan Freeman on this video, sure a lot of people might disagree with me and I may also spark a little controversy, but we go through 12 years of schooling and are taught that this is a good thing and yes while it might be good its also hypocritical , black history IS AMERICAN history. I think its ridiculous that we have one and I think schools need to focus on teaching "black history" year round not just every February. What the system does is programs peoples minds into thinking this is the norm and we have to accept it, NO! I think otherwise! Go out, seek the knowledge you are looking for, not just in black history but anything you choose to learn more about in life! The system will never tell you that........
